Rajeshree Cinema


Practically the only cinema hall in Central Surat.. used to show English Movies at times. Later went bust, and was taken over by Tapali Mandap and converted into Rajeshree Hall for marriages & other events.

GPO..


The General Post Office (GPO) on Main Road in Mahidharpura. One of the famous landmarks of Surat. The Philately Club was established here, though with the advent of TV, children interested in stamp collections is fast dwindling.

Kailash Nagar Circle...


The junction at Kailash Nagar, the White House Residential Complex in the background. The Jains of the area made this interesting traffic circle, with a "Kalash" at the centre. The island is named "Vijay Vallabh Chowk"

Surat Textile Market & Revolving Restaurant..


A familiar sight recognised by Surtis... Surat Textile Market, Auditorium, and practically Asia's first Revolving Restaurant at Tex-Palazzo Hotel. The restaurant has gone in for a makeover, and is now called "Kandeel". It offers a panaromic view of the city.

Mela....



The Annual Janmasthami Mela for 40 days, which started from Parsi Sheri near Bhagal, shifted to Rustompura, then Ring Road, and eventually now being held every year at Vanita Vishram Grounds. Its a very popular affair and the entrance decor has special themes every year... Was passing by the mela and just couldnt resist clicking the lighted entrance!

Ramzan delicacies...


During Ramzan, post-sunset, the Rander area becomes synonymous with Non-Veg delicacies. It becomes the favourite haunt of the Surti Non-Veg lover.


Its also one colorful affair!!!


The preffered place for Paratha's in Rander is at "Mama's Paratha Center"
